  • textexpander – Mac-only tool, highly recommended; useful for creating macros for repetitive text input
  • CrowdScience – website demographics
  • Fusestats – web analytics; heatmaps
  • Read It Later – Firefox extension for bookmarking and tracking online resources that you want to read later
  • Top Posts Widget – display the most popular items on your blog, which will generated more traffic to your archives
  • Internet Health Report & Internet Traffic Report – tracking problems with the connections between your network and other networks; "why is the internet so slow?"
  • FriendConnect – social networking for your website visitors
  • FireShot – Firefox extension for taking screenshots
  • FileJuicer – extracts images or audio files out of PDFs, Flash, and presentations
  • XnView – converts image file formats of any type; provides a view of the contents of any directory
  • ColorPicker – fast, easy tool for getting hex codes for colors
  • Color Wizard – can give suggestions for complementary colors
  • Accessibility Color Wheel – can test the visibility of color combinations for various color blindness
  • Personal Fonts – create fonts out of your handwriting
  • Lovely Charts – clean, attractive chart design
  • XML/SWF Charts – interactive charts based on data
  • Bubbl – collaborative mind-mapping tool
  • MindMeister – collaborative mind-mapping tool; subscription service with institutional options

  • xcavator – search photo websites for images that are similar to a particular image you have
  • Google Unsend – Gmail labs tool for delaying sent messages from leaving for 5-10 seconds (GoogleGoggles lite)
  • Lifehacker tip for making searches in Firefox open in a new tab
  • Review Basics – fee-based tool for reviewing projects/documents in a collaborative environment; any document in native format
  • Quintura Kids – search widget for children’s sections of websites
  • Virus Total – detects Trojans; gives reasons why
  • WinDirStat – visual representation of server contents
  • LetsCallMe – phone number hiding while still allowing people to contact you
  • DamnIT – javascript that sends an email to the admin whenever something goes wrong with a javascript
  • Chunk It! – pulls in URLs from a web page, indexes it, and then allows you to search that content

I will add the remaining URLs later – they moved through the last part of the presentation too quickly to capture them then. (Tip: Leave the slide with the URL up longer or make sure you include the URL on the slide you move to when showing examples.)
