I (heart) Jenica’s vendor rants. The latest one is spot on, and reminded me that it is the season of library product sales people trying to get me to buy their stuff. I still haven’t figured out how to politely tell them not to bother, and that if we want something and have the budget for it, we’ll contact them.

  1. It’s harder than it should be to turn away an unwanted solicitation — I’m assuming it’s both personality and cultural norms — and it drives me nuts. They’re just people doing their jobs, I know, but still, I want them to GO AWAY. And balancing that desire for polite with the desire for freedom from solicitation is hard work. Boo.

    Glad to hear I’m not alone, though!
